The Legend L800 is Polk’s current flagship SDA floorstanding speaker, resurrecting their pioneering Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) technology. The dual baffle columns—angled at ~15° and fitted with head-shadow filters—suppress crosstalk, preserving stereo integrity deep into the listening room. This creates a soundstage that appears to emanate from the space, not just the speakers—a sensation often described as “speakers disappearing”.

The Legend L800 floorstanding speaker features new patents that build on the original SDA mission of maintaining full stereo separation all the way from the source to your ears. As a result, L800 renders the most lifelike detailed, stereo imaging you have ever heard from Polk. The speakers seem to disappear as the sonic images fill your listening room with startling realism. It does this by minimizing the inherent distortion found in all stereo speakers known as interaural crosstalk (IAC) by utilizing a second column of transducers called a dimensional array. The Legend L800 speakers are the most revealing and best sounding SDA speakers Polk has ever made.

For Legend Series we enhanced our patented Power Port® technology by fine-tuning the geometry of the port flare to smoothly transition air flow from the speaker into your listening area. The result? Louder, cleaner bass and more defined midrange by minimizing the turbulence, distortion, and port noise typically found in traditional ported speaker designs.

New 5.25" turbine cone
Polk developed the new Turbine Cone specifically for the Legend series to ensure the natural reproduction of the mid-range, the frequencies our ears are so sensitive to. The Turbine cone combines Polk’s proprietary foam core and the molded Turbine geometry which dramatically increases stiffness and damping, without adding mass, resulting in a smooth, detailed mid-range and effortless bass – hear every detail.
